Say Yes Layout by Margie

I've been saving this Heidi Swapp 12x12 "Invisible" for just the right project. I was tempted at times to cut it into several pieces, but I'm glad I held off. The 12x12 background is the the Vintage Paper design and these Invisibles are incredibly easy to use! This particular layout was done specifically for an engagement photo for my boss, but the title can easily be altered to fit other occasions. The invisible is a white paper with a glossy print that resists inks and other medium. I used Tim Holtz inks on the entire Invisible. Colors I used: Shabby Shutters, Pine Needles, Antique Linen, Tea Dye, Worn Lipstick & Tattered Rose. I applied the inks using a Tim Holtz Applicator and just blended until I achieved the desired effect. To create the larger mat for the photo I cut a piece of cardstock about 1/4" larger than the floral mat, on 3 sides and the scalloped edge was done with an EK Success border punch. The beautiful floral mat is actually a Journaling Note by Prima. While rummaging through one of my craft bins, I came across these Heidi Swapp chipboard invisibles and wondered what the heck I was saving them for. They are too pretty not to be used. So, I got out the Worn Lipstick and Tattered Rose inks and went to work on it. The chipboard is also self-adhesive... how easy is that?! For the word "LOVE" I used a We R Memory Keepers adhesive rub on kit. Everything you need is in the kit... rub on letters, foil, flock and glitter. I opted for the pink glitter. I cut out the individual letters and rubbed them onto the inked chipboard with a wooden stick. Then, I placed the pink rub on glitter sheet over that and rubbed that on. It adheres to the sticky letters and ta-da... instant glittered letters! The journaling sheet is also from the Prima Journaling Notes set. I cut along the edge on the left hand side to create a frame look. Originally, it was the same size as the printed photo mat, with a straight edge.

I had scraps left over from a previously cut up, 12x12 Prima Clear Paintable "Beautimus Mix" and decided to use a piece. These can be painted or colored with markers and other medium, but I chose to leave it clear and use it as an overlay. I adhered it under the flower and the letters "YES" are holding it in place at the bottom portion. The ribbon is, believe it or not, left over from my daughter's wedding FIVE years ago! The soft colors were so perfect for this layout. I just randomly folded it, used glue dots and scotch tape to hold it in place, knowing the flowers would hide the mess. Those gorgeous flowers are Prima Camelot Roses. This mix is called Garcia. To adhere them, I used a quick drying glue. And finally, the sentiment! I thought it would be fun to incorporate a Gypsy font into the project. This Gypsy Font is so pretty. I had originally cut it with the shadow feature in a slightly darker shade of blue, but thought it looked prettier without it, so I used only the base cut, which was done of course on my Gypsy, cut at 1-1/2 inches. The paper is a textured, adhesive cardstock by QuicKutz.

The entire layout has such a soft appearance. The Invisible almost looks like it has a velvet texture to it.
