Graphic 45 Christmas Wall Hanging by Maria

I bought these Graphic 45 papers as soon as I saw them. They somehow reminded me of my childhood and crafts I used to do with my mom. I was playing with my Gypsy making some background papers and when I was done I had a perfect match for my Graphic 45.

Love that Custom Crops is carrying this line!

The background paper was made in the Gypsy using the George and Joys of the Season cartridges. I just used a rectangle from George and a holly image from Joys of the Season. I kept welding the holly onto the square. NOTE: When going to cut an image like this with many welds, it may take longer for the Gypsy to load.

I wanted the background to be thick like chipboard. After trying the cut with chipboard I realized there were just too many fine cuts for chipboard. I ended up cutting it four times out of green paper for layering.

I glued the fine parts of the image together with Zig two-way. It worked great! The paper was then inked with using the Tim Holtz applicator to add dimension. The Graphic 45 papers were inked with Color Box ink.

I used 3 sheets of the Graphic 45 paper. I cut away different parts on each paper for layering.

3-D Glue Dots were used to layer the cuts on top of one another.

Glimmer Mist was sprayed on both the background paper and the Santa image when completed. I love the slight shimmer it gave without taking away the Old World feel of the papers. Note: If I did this project again, I would spray the images before glue dotting. This way I could flatten the papers while drying. The Glimmer Mist did warp the papers a bit, but I didn\'t want to flatten my design.

Stickles was used on the holly berries.

Fabric Tac by Beacon was used to adhere all the ribbon to the project. Love this stuff!

Circles of ribbon were used to make the loopy look on the project.

When I saw this wall hanging, it brought back of such wonderful memories of my childhood & of Vintage Christmas cards that my parents used to get & send out. I wish I had a least one of those cards today. I just love the Vintage look & antiques. I am going to have to look into those papers. You did a wonderful job on the wall hanging. Its just beautiful. Keep up the good work.

This is beautiful, but I also need a .cut file. Had a Gypsy but returned it. Had a lot of trouble seeing the images and also have carpal tunnel syndrome, which resulted in a lot of pain when holding the stylus. Bummer.
