Sweet Dream Sweet Baby by Susan

I love scrapping baby pages! Those sweet little faces, those cuddly moments of preciousness; I can almost still smell that sweet baby odor. I find myself being a bit nostalgic lately, probably because my youngest child is graduating high school this year. I have the sweetest photos of Ian as a baby, too many to have a single favorite, though one of my many favorites is Ian sleeping soundly in a little blue outfit. He looks so peaceful and so relaxed. And that photo was the inspiration for this baby two page layout, Sweet Dreams.

This cut file was created using Paper Doll Dress-Up (PDDU), Storybook (SB), and Dreams Come True (DCT). You could remove the clouds if you do not have DCT, but I love the swirly style of the DCT clouds.

Page one is the base cut for the left side of the layout. Directions are on the cut file tab telling you to cut the top half in either pink or blue (I chose blue) and the lamb at the bottom in white.

Tab two, page two, is the right half of the layout. This entire mat should be cut in white, as the top is clouds and the bottom is a pair of sweet lambs.

The third tab, page three in the cut file, is an optional background cut. I created this addition after I completed my preview. I think it is a perfect addition to the design.

Page four, the final tab in the cut file, is the “overlay” pieces. These are the pieces that you use in part or full as layers over some of the cuts on pages one and two. You will use three colors of paper on page four, positioning the paper over the specific cuts only. Cut the lambs in pink as only the faces and legs will be used, the cloud should be cut in white, and the moon & stars in gold.

To assemble the pink lambs cut out the face and the legs and glue these pieces to the solid white sheep. The white cloud should be glued to the pink or blue cloud on page one, and the gold moon and stars also goes on page one. See the examples below:

I used a brown marker to add faces and hooves to my lambs.

After you have finished assembling your lambs and banner cuts, you will move on to assemble the pages. Pick a solid color of card stock (two pieces) which coordinates with your print paper. Glue the background pieces to the card stock. Arrange the letters, large cloud, and lambs as shown below. Add you beautiful baby photos and you have just created a lovely double page layout!
